The objective of this mini-symposium is to bring together experts from academia and industry to discuss the most recent advances and emerging research directions in a field of computational fluid-structure interaction and computational modelling for problems with moving boundaries and interfaces in engineering, science and medicine. We expect that the presentations will cover a wide range of challenging applications, including cardiovascular fluid mechanics, biomedical devices, aerospace and aerodynamics, wind turbines and turbomachinery, additive manufacturing, marine and automotive.
The topics of this mini-symposium will include theoretical developments, stable and efficient iterative methods, novel mesh moving techniques, adaptive methods, efficient coupling strategies, stabilized and multi-scale methods, sophisticated discretization techniques including Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) of fluid and structural mechanics, new developments in software design, efficient implementation and high-performance computing (HPC), solution post-processing tools, and more.
